In the Murmansk region, tests are underway to clean power transmission lines using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was announced on February 12 by the governor of the region Andrey Chibis.

"The specialists of the innovative Laboratory of the Future company are conducting a unique operation to clean power lines from ice and frost," the Telegram channel said.

Chibis clarified that the conditions are complicated by the fact that communications are being jammed in some areas. According to him, 4 km of wire has been processed — it takes about 4-5 minutes to clean each section.

The governor of the region noted that, with a positive test outcome, the maintenance of power lines will become much more efficient and safer.

On February 12, Russian developers from the Advanced Engineering School of the Southern Federal University (SFU) announced the creation of a correlation-extreme navigation system for drones. It was noted that various modifications will allow the drone to navigate the terrain even at night and in all weather conditions.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
