The government of the Russian Federation has postponed the payment of the recycling fee for the largest manufacturers of cars and special equipment. This was announced on February 12 on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.

"The deadline for payment of the recycling fee <...> for the largest Russian manufacturers of motor vehicles, agricultural machinery, road construction and utility equipment, as well as trailers has been postponed to December 2026," the publication says.

The ministry explained that the decision was made in conditions of expensive debt financing and high credit burden of enterprises. It is noted that the released funds of the company will be able to be used for investment programs, purchase of components and payment of salaries.

In December last year, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, following inspections of the work of customs authorities, revealed violations in monitoring the completeness of calculation and timely payment of the recycling fee for vehicles imported by individuals. They stated that the improper verification of the calculations submitted by citizens led to the subsequent additional assessment of the waste collection and the imposition of an additional financial burden in the form of penalties.
