Almost 23% of the waste was sent for sorting in the Pskov region.

In the Pskov region, 151 thousand tons of municipal solid waste with a volume of over 2.5 million cubic meters were transported to landfills in 2025. The work was carried out by the regional operator Ecogroup.

According to the acting general director of the company Denis Kuznetsov, 22.7% of the total volume of the exported waste is directed to sorting. This indicator reflects the progressive development of the MSW management system in the region, he added.

The specialist clarified that the company's work covers the entire Pskov region and is built through six branches. Five of them are located in the region, and one is in Pskov. Each branch is based on its own site.

As the Pskov News feed notes, a modern waste sorting and recycling facility, an ecotechnopark, is currently being built in the region. It is planned to be put into operation by the end of summer 2026.

Earlier it was reported that more than a thousand new garbage containers appeared in the Pskov region in 2025. The waste collection facilities were placed by Ecogroup.
