Applications for the new season of the City League of Student Debates have begun in Moscow.

Applications for participation in the fourth season of the student team competition "Urban League of Debates" are open in Moscow, the City Center for Professional and Career Development reported. This year, for the first time, students from any university in the capital can try their hand at the League. The project provides an opportunity to learn public speaking skills and teamwork.

"The Urban Debate League is an intellectual competition that takes place within the framework of the Student Parliamentary Clubs project. The students will discuss socially significant topics and learn to defend their position. The winners will receive the title of the best university speakers and valuable prizes," said Evgeny Andrienko, Director of the City's Center for Professional and Career Development.

The competition will be held in several stages. After registration, university teams will be formed. A series of tournaments starts in March, which will last until December 2026. In each meeting, the expert jury evaluates the oratorical skills, depth of disclosure of the topic, teamwork, creative approach and effective work of the seconds.

League members also get the opportunity to participate in a training program. The organizers conduct public speaking trainings for them in order to prepare the children for tournaments.

Over the previous seasons, more than 150 teams took part in the competition. Last year's winner was the team of the Financial University under the Government of Moscow.

"Winning the league is the result of eight months of hard work. For us, this project has become a story about cohesion, support and the development of public speaking skills," said Daniil Leonov, captain of the Financial University team.

"Student Parliamentary Clubs" is a community of students from 55 universities in Moscow who develop leadership skills, participate in debates, lawmaking and pave their own career path. By inspiring young people to actively participate in the life of the city and the country, the project contributes to the formation of a new generation of patriots.
