Russian skier Nepryaeva spoke about the severity of the Olympic 10 km race
On February 12, Russian skier Daria Nepryaeva shared her impressions of the 10 km race with a separate start at the Olympic Games in Italy, noting the difficult conditions for performance.
"The race turned out to be very fast and dynamic. <… > It's very difficult, and the track today is the toughest since we've been here, and it's high—speed. <... > It was a tough race for everyone. <… > It was a bit hard for me today," TASS quoted her as saying.
According to the athlete, in the Olympic "cutting" everyone starts setting a very high pace from the very start, but not everyone manages to cope with it, because you need to keep a high speed throughout the entire 10 km of the track. At the same time, Nepryaeva said that she was glad to be among the 10 strongest skiers.
Earlier that day, Nepryaeva competed in the 10 km freestyle race, covering the distance in 24 minutes and 45 seconds. The athlete took the 21st place. The winner of the race was Sweden's Frida Carlsson (22 minutes 49.2 seconds), Sweden's Ebba Andersson (+46.6 seconds) took second place, and Jessica Diggins (+49.7) from the USA took third place.
