The United States has completed the withdrawal of its forces from the military base in Al-Tanf in eastern Syria. This was announced on February 12 by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM) on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

"The US armed forces remain fully prepared to respond to any threats from ISIS (the organization is recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in the Russian Federation. — Ed.) in the region. We continue to support our partners' efforts to prevent the resurgence of this terrorist network," said Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of CENTCOM.,

He stressed that constant pressure on ISIS remains a prerequisite for protecting U.S. interests and strengthening regional security. Even with the withdrawal of troops, the United States remains highly active in the region.

It is reported that over the past two months, American forces have attacked more than 100 targets, using over 350 precision-guided munitions. During these operations, more than 50 ISIS terrorists were eliminated or captured.

On February 4, Syria TV reported that the US military bases located in the southern Syrian province of Al-Shaddad had begun preparations for their complete withdrawal from the area. It was reported that a US military cargo plane was spotted in the same area where the redeployment process began. There were some objects on board the aircraft.
