Two sisters who disappeared in St. Petersburg on their way to school - 18—year-old Marina and 11-year-old Irina — contacted their mother's house, who allegedly lured them to the sect "Russian Orthodox Church — Tsarist Empire." The footage of the girls' video message is published by Izvestia on February 12.

"I have the will to live where I want and with whom I want," Marina said.

The girl, reading out the theses written out in advance on a piece of paper, stated that according to her religious beliefs, she does not use documents. The schoolgirl added that her father forced her and Irina to carry their passports and use bank cards.

"When we are with her (with my sister. — Ed.) they didn't want to take the cards, use them to go to school, or take public transport, he (the father. — Ed.) also threatened," she said.

Marina is sitting next to her mother, who holds her youngest daughter on her lap. There is a painting hanging on the background of the speaker. The girls' heads are covered with headscarves, they are dressed in long skirts and long-sleeved sweatshirts.

The father of the girls, who disappeared a few days ago, told Izvestia on the same day that they had been stolen by their mother, who had joined a totalitarian sect. According to him, one of the main locations of the destructive religious association is the village of Aybashi in the Staromainsky district of the Ulyanovsk region. Currently, the man is engaged in depriving the ex-wife of parental rights through the court.

Marina and Irina's grandmother shared with Izvestia the sectarian ideas of her former daughter-in-law. So, according to her, the woman was unemployed. At first, she tried to lure her ex-husband into the sect: in letters addressed to him, she described her life, which was more like the conditions of detention in a prison camp.
