Sergey Lipatov, the former chairman of the board of directors of the Moscow football club (FC) Lokomotiv, apologized to the family of the murdered man on his behalf. This was announced on February 12 by his lawyer during a hearing in the Odintsovo City Court.

"For more than 20 years, I wanted to ask you to forgive me, because the severity of this act weighed on me every day, but I was afraid," RBC quoted the text of the defendant's telegram.
