More than 80 exhibitions about Moscow have been held in the capital's museums in three years.

Every year, the capital's museums and galleries host exhibitions dedicated to the history, sights, and residents of the city. Russian Russian Museum One of the largest projects in recent years has been the exhibition "The Image of Moscow in Russian Art from the collection of the State Russian Museum" in the renovated Pavilion No. 1 "Tsentralny" at VDNH. It was visited by more than 330 thousand people.

"Over the past three years, more than 80 exhibitions have been dedicated to the capital. They featured a variety of exhibits: archaeological finds, household items, paintings, photographs. Visitors learned about the architectural features of the city, memorable places and events, and the fates of famous Muscovites," said Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of the capital.

In 2024, the Pushkin State Museum hosted the exhibition "The Moscow Palette of Evgeny Kumankov." In the same year, the Museum of S.A. Yesenin organized the exhibition "Moscow. Modernity. Yesenin." Her concept is based on places significant to the poet in the capital, marked by the Art Nouveau style.

In 2023, the city's museums joined the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of architect Alexei Shchusev. The Gilyarovsky Center hosted the exhibition "Constructivist tendencies in the work of Alexei Shchusev. From sketches and ideas to reality." The collection consisted of more than 200 fragments of graphics, photographs and documents from the archive of the architect's heirs.

At the end of 2024, the Museum of Moscow opened a large-scale exhibition "History of Moscow". It contains approximately 2.7 thousand artifacts and works of art, covering the period from the first Dyak settlements to the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Another important project of the Museum of Moscow is called "Moscow without suburbs". Its curators create exhibitions based on stories told by the residents themselves.

A series of international and national programs have been launched on the basis of city museums in the capital. There are plans to hold exchange exhibitions and joint projects with museums in Mexico, China, Brazil and other countries by 2030.
