Psychologist Yuri Kudryavtsev believes that a midlife crisis, like no other, involves a loss of meaning in life and a growing fear of death and old age. Therefore, men are beginning to pay more attention to themselves, in particular, focusing on appearance.

"Men try to compensate for their sufferings and worries with the help of plastic surgery or appearance. However, we must understand that the external will not replace the internal. You have to accept yourself the way you are, work on yourself, develop, saturate your life with various interests, appreciate not only yourself but also others," says Kudryavtsev.

According to the expert, external signs are important, but the main thing in a man is reliability, moral and emotional stability. And a woman next to such a man should be comfortable and safe.

"In addition to the fact that a man should be clean, take care of his hair and beard, and smell good, he should engage in his inner world, increase self—esteem, and learn to be pleasant in communication," the Izvestia interlocutor emphasized.

However, Kudryavtsev believes that increased attention to appearance is acceptable and normal when it comes to people in creative professions, since for them the external image is an integral part of the work.
