Russia's permanent representative to the OSCE accused Kiev of trying to disrupt the negotiation efforts.

Over the past few days, Ukraine and its sponsors have been actively trying to disrupt the negotiation efforts of Russia and the United States. This was announced on February 12 by Dmitry Polyansky, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

"Over the past few days, the Kiev regime and its sponsors have worked tirelessly to disrupt the efforts of Russian and American diplomats to find a formula for a sustainable peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Polyansky stressed that while NATO is dragging out the conflict in Ukraine, Moscow perceives any talk about security as a screen for escalation. He also drew attention to the fact that calls for dialogue with Russia continue to be heard in the European Union, but they are invariably accompanied by military preparations, and the Russian Federation records this.

Against the background of the preparations for the third round, an attempt on the life of a Russian general took place in Moscow, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces continued to strike at the territory of the Russian Federation - at whose behest Kiev is acting.

Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the assassination attempt on Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev showed Kiev's intention to disrupt the negotiation process on a settlement in Ukraine.

The assassination attempt on General Alekseev in Moscow became known on February 6. The victim was hospitalized. The next day, February 7, Alekseev regained consciousness. On February 11, an investigator in the court of Viktor Vasin, accused of the attempted murder of Alekseev, announced the possible involvement of the Ukrainian special services in the terrorist attack and said that the investigation was continuing to look for other participants.
