In Shanghai, China, an intersection that has not yet been put into operation collapsed due to a leak during construction. This was reported by STHeadline on February 12.

The published footage shows a large section of the road surface that sagged at the time of the incident, next to which construction work was underway. A hollow is visible on the road, surrounded by workers and machinery.

"The road began to collapse rapidly, sinking into the ground, and a nearby makeshift work building also fell into the pit. The sinkhole continued to expand, and the workers quickly scattered," the publication says.

It is noted that the leak site was built by the China Railway Tunnel Group and is located within the construction zone of the 18th section of the Jia-Min line. An emergency plan has been activated at the scene.

In Cairo, on February 2, two shops completely fell through the ground due to subsidence to a depth of 15 m. The incident occurred at a gas station in the area of the Fifth settlement in the east of the capital. A flower shop and a pastry shop have gone underground. As a result of the collapse, two people who were inside the premises were injured.
