Traffic jams of up to eight points due to snowfall are expected in Moscow this evening. This was announced by the press service of the Moscow Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development on Thursday, February 12, with reference to the Traffic Management Center.

"Today and tomorrow, we ask you to show understanding and adjust your plans, and if possible, use the metro to travel. This way you will get there faster, and utilities will be able to clean the roads without interference," the Moscow City News agency quotes the message.

The Department of Transport noted that heavy traffic is currently observed on the outside of the Third Transport Ring from the Nizhny Novgorod flyover to the Lefortovo Tunnel, on the inside of the MKAD from Lipetsk Street to Pavel Fitin Street, as well as on Yaroslavskoye Highway towards the center.

The press service urged drivers to take their time, avoid sudden maneuvers and braking, and slow down in advance near pedestrian crossings.

Earlier in the day, Tatyana Pozdnyakova, chief specialist of the Meteonosti news agency, told RT that the snowfall that began on Thursday in Moscow would continue until Friday morning and turn into sleet.
