You will no longer need a pension certificate, you can now confirm the social discount in the store with a QR code from the national messenger MAX. On February 12, the first customers, among whom was the famous writer Daria Dontsova, were able to try out the new feature.

"The whole process takes a few seconds, it requires only a phone, which, of course, allows pensioners anywhere in the country, regardless of the availability of certain documents, to confirm their status," said Roman Chekushov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia.

Not only pensioners can use MAX-ID. Proof of age is also available for everyone when purchasing products labeled 18+, such as alcohol or energy drinks. Digital ids are already accepted in half of retail outlets across the country, and it is planned to expand the use of QR codes from the national messenger to other areas.
