Pensioner lost 1 million rubles due to false brokers in Ussuriysk

A criminal case has been opened in Ussuriysk on fraud, as a result of which a 58-year-old pensioner was injured. The man lost more than 1 million rubles.

According to the victim, in January 2026, he saw an advertisement online offering high earnings on the stock exchange. The man clicked on the link and installed the app on his phone. For two weeks, he communicated with a conman who posed as a broker, and transferred funds ostensibly as investments. This is reported by the UssurMedia news agency.

When the investments exceeded 1 million rubles, the platform became unavailable, and the broker stopped contacting. A criminal case has been opened on the fact of fraud on an especially large scale.

In the Tula region, a 78-year-old pensioner lost 1.96 million rubles. The scammers convinced him to transfer the money to a "secure" account.
