On February 19, the Balashikha Historical and Art Museum will host the opening of the exhibition "The Chronicle of the Soviet Military through the eyes of a military commander." The exhibition will include a series of photographs taken by Pavel Volkov, a photojournalist at Izvestia News Center, during a business trip to the Kursk region.

In addition, the exhibition will feature another series of works by Pavel Volkov from the museum's collection called Requiem. It is dedicated to the events of 2022 and tells about the life of civilians in the war zone using documentary photography. This series has been repeatedly awarded with high awards in the field of photojournalism.

The works of a photojournalist from Izvestia represent a unique visual archive of the events of a Special Military Operation. Eyewitness accounts objectively reflect the drama of the situations, emphasizing the scale of destruction and human losses. By documenting conflicts in hot spots, the author creates an invaluable source of information for historians, analysts, and the public.
