Student families will receive housing in a dormitory thanks to United Russia
The United Russia Law, which creates clear rules for the allocation of dormitories, was adopted in the second reading. This was announced in his Telegram channel on February 12 by deputy, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy Artyom Metelev, who authored the bill.
According to him, thanks to the initiative, a uniform procedure for the provision of rooms in dormitories will be approved, and information about available places will be made public. Students with children or married people will receive priority right to separate living quarters, and "dead souls" will be evicted.
"28.4 thousand student families study at universities. Currently, 65% of them cannot live together (the results of our survey). We have recently consolidated the status of student families in the law. Now there are real guarantees. Our Committee has been asking students for this for a long time," Metelev wrote.
Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, announced last September that the national Family project, which includes measures to support student families, would be launched in Russia in 2025. Dormitories for student families, departmental children's institutions, rooms for children, and the possibility of a priority transition to a budget-based education are provided.
