The Russian Foreign Ministry has outlined the conditions of return for indecently departed companies from Russia

If the company behaved indecently when leaving the Russian market, then it will be much more difficult for it to return. This was stated by Dmitry Birichevsky, Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"If a company has behaved, relatively speaking, indecently, it will come and say that it wants to return to the niche where it was before 2022, then it will not succeed. We will say that everything is busy here, if you want to work in our market, let's see how it is possible. Where is your niche, what can you offer us new? — Birichevsky said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

In particular, he recalled that the American company McDonald's had once very easily opened a business in Russia. However, this will no longer happen. Birichevsky emphasized.

Earlier on February 10, it became known that McDonald's, which left the Russian Federation in 2022, registered a trademark of the same name in Russia. The application for registration was filed in December 2024, and in 2026 Rospatent decided to register the trademark. According to the documents, the McDonald's trademark will be used to sell food, beverages, as well as toys and tableware in Russia.
