A fighter of the Russian Armed Forces shot down a reconnaissance drone worth $ 300 thousand.

On February 12, a Russian serviceman with the call sign Olympus told how he shot down a Shark reconnaissance drone worth $300,000 on the border of the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics (LPR and DPR).

In 2023, the military voluntarily went to the special operation zone to join the anti-aircraft missile unit. Two years later, he joined the unmanned systems forces as an operator, and now he has become the commander of the FPV drone calculations department in the unmanned Systems Forces unit of the Southern Military District.

"The first drone I destroyed was in October last year in the area of the LPR, the DPR. It was a Shark worth $300,000," the soldier told RIA Novosti.

According to the fighter, due to the darkness, it was difficult to detect an enemy reconnaissance drone, and the calculation of the radar station helped him with this task.

Then the soldier with the call sign Olympus was able to eliminate the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on his own and destroyed two drones as part of the crew. He said that the fighters received payments for the downed drones, thanks to which they were able to improve their calculations for the efficiency of work in the area of their military operations.
