"Dr. Viroi Yoang, director of Hat Yai Hospital, announced that the principal of the Patong Pratankirivat School has passed away," the publication says.
It is specified that the woman died from severe blood loss caused by gunshot wounds.
The Khaosod newspaper reported on February 11 that an unknown person opened fire and took people hostage at a school in southern Thailand. According to the newspaper, the suspect stole a pistol from a policeman and rode to school on a motorcycle, then broke into the school and fired two shots. It was noted that there could be about 300 children in the educational institution.
Later, NBC News reported that the man who opened fire at a Thai school was neutralized and detained. At least three people were injured in the shooting.
