Assault units of the Vostok group of forces have captured strongholds and captured soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on February 12 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Russian military personnel in small groups approached the previously identified enemy stronghold, which consists of a network of branched positions camouflaged in a forest belt. During the clash, the enemy did not resist, voluntarily surrendering.

Prisoner of war Alexander Grinko told the Russian soldiers about the supply difficulties and offered to help them clear the fortified positions of machine-gun crews. The Russian military agreed.

The prisoner of war approached the stronghold, began talking to those inside, but they did not answer him. The Russian soldiers who controlled the entrance noticed how a Ukrainian ran out and warned of an imminent explosion, then everyone left the danger zone. After that, the fortified position was destroyed.

"At first everything was fine, they said that everything was fine there, if you go in, everything will be fine — food will be served, that is, food and water will be thrown off. It turns out that when we went in, there was nothing, we were hungry, we threw everything on the road, what we took with us, only we carried heavy bullets in backpacks," Grinko said.

On February 11, soldiers of the 7th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 11th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Russia, in an interview with Izvestia correspondent Alexei Poltoranin, told about the weapons used in the Kharkov area of the special military operation. An artilleryman with the call sign Anubis spoke about the M-46 cannon, which is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 27 km.
