On February 11, US President Donald Trump announced that he had discussed with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the possibility of continuing negotiations with Iran, as well as the "tremendous progress" that had been achieved in the Gaza Strip.

"The meeting went very well, and excellent relations continue between our countries. Nothing final has been achieved, except that I insisted on continuing negotiations with Iran to see if a deal could be reached," Trump wrote on the Truth Social network.

According to him, the United States is ready for any development in relations between Iran and Israel, including the absence of negotiations. At the same time, the American leader expressed the hope that the Iranian authorities would approach the negotiations wisely and show great responsibility.

"In addition, we discussed the tremendous progress that has been made in Gaza and in the region as a whole. There is indeed peace in the Middle East," the President of the United States said.

Before meeting with Trump on the same day, Netanyahu signed a document on joining the "Peace Council" on the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Prime Minister accepted the invitation of the US President to join the "Peace Council" on the Gaza Strip on January 21. On January 17, Axios correspondent Barak Ravid reported that the composition of the council was not coordinated with Israel and contradicts the policy of the state. According to Netanyahu's office, the prime minister instructed Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar to contact the US Secretary of State on this issue.
