The overhaul of the Rostokinsky overpass in the northeast of Moscow has started
Specialists of the municipal management complex have begun major repairs of the Rostokinsky overpass in the northeast of Moscow. This was announced on Wednesday, February 11, by the Deputy Mayor of the capital for Housing and Communal Services and landscaping, Peter Biryukov.
According to him, the bridge structures are under constant control and are regularly inspected, and if necessary, a decision is made on repairs. He clarified that work on the overpass, which runs over the tracks of the Yaroslavl direction of the Moscow Railways, is planned to be completed by the end of the year, writes Moscow 24.
Biryukov explained that during the operation of the facility, defects in the supporting structures and damage to the bridge bed appeared, requiring elimination to ensure traffic safety. The project provides for the replacement of elements of the bridge bed and superstructure, the restoration of reinforced concrete pillars, as well as the renovation of the supporting parts and pillars. At the same time, there are no plans to completely block traffic — repairs will be carried out in stages while maintaining passage in each direction. Trams will continue to run in both directions according to a single-track reversible scheme, the Moscow City News Agency reports.
He also recalled that over the past 14 years, all bridge facilities in the capital have undergone various types of repairs, which made it possible to extend their service life and increase comfort for drivers and pedestrians.
