- The Liberal Democratic Party proposed to reduce taxes on children's goods and raise the tax on oysters.
The Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) has submitted to the State Duma a bill providing for a reduction in the VAT rate to 10% on children's and adolescent goods. At the same time, the parliamentarians propose to cancel the preferential rate for a number of delicacies, including oysters, scallops and mussels. This was announced on February 11 by the author of the initiative, deputy Vladimir Sysoev. "Газете.Ru ".
"The draft law proposes to apply a reduced value—added tax rate of 10% to all products for children and adolescents," the explanatory note says.
To compensate for the shortfall in budget revenues, the bill proposes to abolish the 10% VAT rate on oysters, scallops and mussels. The Liberal Democratic Party emphasized that these products do not belong to the category of basic necessities.
Sysoev drew attention to the rise in prices and tariffs, which reduces the purchasing power of citizens. According to him, the proposed "balanced solution will save additional funds in the pockets of Russians."
On February 2, LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky said that the first mortgage payment for young people should be reduced to 3-5%. The initial payment for young people under the age of 35 should not exceed 3-5% of the total cost of housing, and the fixed interest rate on the loan will not exceed 6% per annum.
