The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation will analyze the effectiveness of agreements adopted to stabilize prices in the regions of Russia. This was announced on February 11 by the FAS press service.

"The territorial authorities of the department will request information from the parties to the agreements on the average rates of price changes and margins after joining the initiative (on price stabilization. — Ed.)," reads a message on the Telegram channel of the service.

It is noted that more than 11.5 thousand organizations and suppliers have become participants in the relevant memoranda. Regional authorities conclude them to stabilize prices for socially important goods, as well as to increase their accessibility to citizens.

On February 10, the Federal Antimonopoly Service announced that it was beginning to check utility tariffs in a number of regions of the country. The purpose of the inspections is to assess the economic feasibility of the cost of electricity, heat, gas, water supply and sanitation services. The ministry recalled that from January 1, 2026, the base rate of value-added tax (VAT) increased by 2%, which should have led to a corresponding tariff adjustment.
