The expert spoke about the values of jewelry stones in reflecting mood.
Each stone in a piece of jewelry carries a special meaning, reflecting each stage of a relationship or a person's mood. This was announced on February 13 by SOKOLOV Product Director Elena Rakutina.
According to the expert, nowadays jewelry is increasingly being chosen not just as a beautiful gift, but as a way to convey emotion and attitude. According to Rakutina, it is the stone that becomes the bearer of meaning in this case: it can hint at falling in love, emphasize the seriousness of intentions, or become a sign of caring.
"The stone has ceased to be a universal symbol "about everything at once." It is chosen for a specific person and stage of the relationship," the expert notes.
So, for young and just beginning relationships, stones with vivid emotion are most often chosen. Tourmalines, morganites, amethysts, and colored sapphires are associated with interest, flirtation, and passion, Rakutina said. They are well suited for gifts at the stage of falling in love, when feelings are just gaining strength.
At the same time, when the relationship becomes more stable, the choice of stones changes. Thus, transparent gems of classical and fantasy cuts are perceived as a symbol of seriousness of intentions, strength of feelings and loyalty.
"Today, a diamond is not necessarily about an engagement. It's more about confidence in feelings and an informed choice," Rakutina explained.
As the expert emphasized, aquamarines and pearls, stones that are associated with the depth of feelings, occupy a special place for married couples and long—term unions. Aquamarine is chosen when it comes to calm affection, trust and emotional stability. It is often used in jewelry that is worn every day as a symbol of an even, stable relationship. Pearls, on the other hand, indicate a different level of intimacy. It symbolizes caring, respect and mature feelings that do not require demonstration.
"Pearls are rarely about an outburst of emotions — rather about tenderness, attention and a desire to be close. That is why such jewelry is increasingly becoming "quiet" personal gifts — as a sign of gratitude, support and emotional connection," the expert noted.
In addition, men's jewelry deserves special attention, where stones increasingly perform a semantic function rather than a decorative one. According to the expert, black diamonds and onyx stones with a pronounced but discreet character are especially in demand in men's rings, cufflinks and pendants.
Rakutina also stressed that in men's jewelry, the stone often becomes the only expressive detail, so its meaning is read especially clearly. This approach makes the products versatile — they look equally organic in both casual style and more formal looks.
On February 9, SOKOLOV Category Director Taisiya Iznova spoke about popular Valentine's Day gifts. According to her, today's leaders include products with precious stones, primarily diamonds and tanzanites, as well as delicate, delicate hearts made of gold: classic models with cubic zirconia or graphic versions without inserts.
