In the MC-21 aircraft, it was possible to import all the composites and approve them in the Federal Air Transport Agency. This was announced on February 11 by Vadim Badekha, General Director of PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).

"Obtaining approval for the use of domestic composites in the MC-21 keel and stabilizer marks the completion of an important stage of import substitution — we completely eliminated the aircraft from foreign materials and during the tests confirmed the reliability of domestic analogues," the CEO was quoted as saying in the UAC Telegram channel.

He also said that many scientific centers and manufacturing enterprises took part in the work. It is noted that composite materials in the power elements of the keel and stabilizer caissons were the last to be replaced. The aircraft is currently being certified with domestic equipment.

On February 2, the UAC informed Izvestia that the situation with aircraft spare parts previously purchased by Russia in the United States did not affect the operation of the domestic MC-21 aircraft.

On December 25, Russian Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin announced that the Russian aviation industry had been able to make a real engineering breakthrough by providing high-quality maintenance to aircraft of foreign companies that remained on the territory of the state. According to him, this result was achieved thanks to the technical centers.
