Serbian Minister of Information and Telecommunications Boris Bratina said on February 11 that the country would not ban the work of Russian mass media at the request of Western countries.

"We in Serbia are proud that we have programs available from all over the world. <...> What the president [of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic] said is real, the West demanded it, but we will not allow it," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti, commenting on the Serbian leader's words about the Soviets to close Russian media from the leadership of one of the European countries.

Bratina drew attention to the fact that in the countries of the European Union (EU), decisions had already been made to close individual media outlets. According to him, the situation in the field of mass media in Europe remains "very bad."

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on February 5 that Europe does not have complete information about the situation in Ukraine due to the ban on broadcasting Russian media in European countries. It was noted that it is precisely the unilateral position maintained in the European media sphere that does not allow EU countries to objectively assess the situation.
