An armed man who opened fire at a school in southern Thailand and took hostages has been neutralized and detained. This was reported on February 11 by NBC News, citing a statement by Deputy Police Chief Vichian Soboon.

"An armed man who opened fire on a school in the Hat Yai district in southern Thailand on Wednesday was detained, and all hostages were released," the publication says.
