New "Muscovites" are being tested in the Tyumen region
The first production Moskvich M70 and M90 cars are being tested in Surgut at -30 °C. This was announced on February 11 by the press service of the plant in its Telegram channel.
Engineers are testing cold start in the cold, ABS and ESP systems on snow and ice, the effectiveness of the climate system and heaters, as well as suspension settings on different surfaces. In addition, it is necessary to calibrate the ADAS systems taking into account the Russian snowy roads and ice rolling.
Earlier, a correspondent for Izvestia discovered an analogue of the Moskvich under the MG brand at a test site in Yakeshi, Inner Mongolia, where it underwent additional tests at subzero temperatures.

The presentation of the new models took place on December 12, 2025 at the site of the Scientific and Technical Center "KamAZ". The Moskvich M70 belongs to the mid-size segment. The car is planned to be equipped with an all-wheel drive system, but at the start of sales it will have only front-wheel drive.The seven-seat M90, about five meters long, will become the flagship of the brand.
It is known that all exterior body panels of M70 and M90 cars are galvanized. The metal is protected from corrosion, which prolongs the service life of the machines.
On January 22, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation reported that over 190 thousand domestic cars were sold in Russia under the preferential car loan program in 2025. The volume of discounts provided exceeded 74 billion rubles. For 2026, about 20 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal budget to finance the preferential car loan program, and 30 billion rubles for preferential leasing.
