An outbreak of acute intestinal infection occurred at a school in the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg, as a result of which 96 people were injured. Such preliminary data was shared by a source of Izvestia on February 11.
It is noted that cases of acute intestinal infection of unknown etiology were identified in the local St. Petersburg secondary School No. 39. According to the source, cases of infection were detected in the period from February 4 to February 11.
"There are 84 children among the injured," the source said.
At the same time, the injured students are currently undergoing inpatient treatment in medical institutions. The circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated.
On February 6, it was reported that 37 cases of poisoning were registered in St. Petersburg among students of school No. 39 in the Nevsky district and a canteen employee. It was noted that the results of laboratory tests confirmed that the patients and contact persons had a norovirus infection.
