The court arrested an accomplice in the assassination of Lieutenant General Alekseev.

A Moscow court has arrested Viktor Vasin, an accomplice in the attempted murder of Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev, until April 6. This was reported on February 11 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

Speaking in court, Vasin stated that he admits guilt, repents of what happened and cooperates with the investigation. According to him, he dissuaded the perpetrator of the assassination attempt Lubomir Korba, hoping that he would not commit a crime.

The assassination attempt on the Lieutenant General took place on the morning of February 6 in an apartment building on the Volokolamsk Highway. The victim was hospitalized and regained consciousness on February 7. Now Alekseev's life is not in danger.

The arrest of the perpetrator of the assassination attempt, Lubomir Korba, and one of his accomplices, Viktor Vasin, became known on February 8. They pleaded guilty to the crime. According to the FSB, Korba was trained at a shooting range in Kiev and was recruited by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) with the assistance of Poland.

Another person involved in the case, Zinaida Serebritskaya, managed to leave for Ukraine and was put on the international wanted list. Presumably, the woman may be in Turkey. On February 10, the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow placed her under arrest in absentia for two months.

At the same time, it became known about the detention of Vasin Jr. According to the FSB, he provided other defendants with vehicles for surveillance, purchased surveillance equipment, and assisted in collecting information about objects of interest to the SBU.
