France has announced Trump's desire to get rid of Zelensky

The leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, said that US President Donald Trump wants to remove the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, from governing Ukraine. This is how the politician commented on an article in the Financial Times (FT) newspaper about the pressure of the American administration on Kiev, which allegedly led to the planning of presidential elections in Ukraine and a referendum on peace agreements.

"A disaster for a man who clung to power for two years without [holding] elections! <...> Does Trump want to get rid of Zelensky, an obstacle to [making] peace? It definitely looks like it is!" wrote Filippo on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

According to the FT, both votes must be held before May 15. According to the newspaper, the American government exerts a strong enough influence on Kiev in order to end the Ukrainian conflict in the spring. Earlier, the newspaper stated that Zelensky could announce a referendum and elections on February 24.
