The new building of the Higher School of Music will be commissioned in Yakutia in 2026

A new complex of the Vasily Bosikov Higher School of Music is due to be commissioned in Yakutsk in 2026. The completion of the construction will be one of the key events of the Year of Culture in Yakutia and the Year of Unity of Peoples in Russia.

According to IA YakutiaMedia, with reference to the regional government, Vladimir Putin ordered the allocation of funds from the federal budget for the completion of the construction of the building of the Higher School of Music in Yakutia and for the purchase of musical instruments.

According to the rector of the Higher School of Music, Nadezhda Zaikova, thanks to the personal support of the president, the construction of the second stage of the building complex was included in the long-term plan for the integrated socio-economic development of the Yakutsk urban agglomeration.

The new complex will have three floors, its area will be about 9,5 thousand square meters. The academic building will accommodate 240 students, and the boarding school — 150 people. In addition to the classrooms, the complex will have a large concert hall, a library, a recording studio, music library rooms and a sports hall. It is planned to equip rooms for individual classes and a tutor room with special acoustics. The facility is being built as part of the national project "Family".

The higher school was established on the initiative of the first president of Yakutia, Mikhail Nikolaev, in 1993. It unites all levels of general education and special training of musicians.

Earlier it was reported that 280 million rubles were allocated in Yakutia for the retrofitting of two perinatal centers. Medical equipment is being purchased for the Republican Hospital No. 1 named after M.E. Nikolaev and the Yakutsk Republican Clinical Hospital. According to Deputy Minister of Health Tatiana Pavlova, more than 70% of the planned equipment has been purchased to date.
