Lavrov pointed to the immutability of the provisions of the Alaska summit on Ukraine.

The understandings on a sustainable settlement in Ukraine, which were reached during the meeting of the leaders of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska, remain "on the table", all agreements are in force. This was announced on February 11 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The head of the department stressed that the crisis provoked by the collective West in Ukraine cannot be eradicated without understanding its root causes.

"This approach, as you know, has been recognized by the administration of [US President Donald] Trump. And on this basis, during the meeting of the presidents of Russia and the United States in Alaska last August, understandings were reached on how to ensure a sustainable, long-term settlement of the Ukrainian problem. These understandings remain on the table," Lavrov said during a government hour in the State Duma.

He added that Moscow intends to contribute to the achievement of all the goals and objectives of the special military operation using political and diplomatic methods. Russia also expresses its gratitude to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its mediation in Ukraine, which provided platforms for negotiations with representatives of Russia, the United States and Ukraine.

"Russian negotiators continue to work to ensure that Russia's security on the western borders, the rights of Russians and Russian-speaking people are reliably secured, and the threat posed by the current Kiev regime and its external patrons is eliminated," Lavrov stressed.
