The diplomat noted that in the field of arms control, the United States allowed the expiration of the Strategic Offensive Arms Reduction Treaty (START Treaty), which seriously undermined mutual trust between major states and affected global strategic stability.

"The United States is obsessed with the policy of using nuclear weapons first, spending trillions of dollars to modernize its nuclear triad, create a global missile defense system, and advance the advanced deployment of strategic assets," Lin Jian added.
