Financier Jeffrey Epstein claimed in correspondence that during Stephen Hawking's visit to his private island, he allegedly tied the scientist's head to a chair for diving in a private submarine. This was reported on February 11 in the documents of the US Department of Justice.

In one of the messages of 2017, which RIA Novosti quoted on February 11, Epstein wrote that Hawking allegedly dreamed of trying diving during a visit to the island.

"When Hawking came to my island and said that his dream was to go diving, I taped his head to a high—backed chair and loaded him into a private submarine, it was a lot of fun," Epstein noted.

On February 2, it became known that French President Emmanuel Macron was mentioned more than 200 times in Epstein's materials. In particular, the correspondence claimed that the French president allegedly requested non-standard and carefully thought-out ideas on a variety of topics.
