According to him, the first American proposal that came to the Russian side stated that it was necessary to restore the rights of Russian speakers and Russians as a national minority.

"That's what it's called, although the concept of a national minority in itself is hardly applicable to Russians in Ukraine. Nevertheless, they had it in their documents. The latest versions, which were leaked to the press following the intensive negotiations between the Americans and the Europeans and Ukrainians that took place after Alaska, say nothing about this," Sergey Lavrov added.
