The global premiere of the latest Russian unmanned system took place in the capital of Saudi Arabia. The development of the Kalashnikov concern was presented at the international arms exhibition, and it is already obvious that it will become a hit. The unique portable complex, tested in the zone of a special military operation (SVO), has characteristics that make it extremely attractive for export.

A vivid presentation, foreign guests — and in fact, a real mini-revolution in the world of drones.

"One operator is able to launch a drone to a target. The launcher, as I understand it, is reusable, and after launch, you can use it for the next device. All this is controlled by one person, which is a serious advantage," Yakkoja Raj, associate production manager at an armored vehicle manufacturing company in India, told Izvestia correspondent Leonid Kitrari.

The commander of the Saudi Arabian ground forces became interested in the RUS-PE complex, and the capabilities of the device were explained to him separately.

The ability to carry a drone on your back, capable of hitting, for example, infantry fighting vehicles at a distance of up to 40 km, can change the whole picture of modern combat. The Izvestia film crew managed to evaluate the complex live.

The container easily fits into a large backpack or is carried on your back. In fact, the entire system is enclosed in it, only the control panel is separate. The tube can be installed anywhere. The process is no more complicated than working with a mortar, but much easier.

Russian drones at the exhibition in Riyadh are the undisputed leaders. The reason is simple: all of them have been tested by real combat operations.

The United States has brought the base of its ground forces to Saudi Arabia — Abrams, Bradley and HIMARS, but there is no excitement around their stands. Perhaps because the world has seen footage of this technique being destroyed by just one hit from a Russian drone.

The exhibition also features export versions of the Lancets. Interest in them has not waned since the first day, especially since a modernized complex was brought to Saudi Arabia.

The Lancet is a unique product that has been widely tested during combat operations and has extensive combat experience. The demand is very high, people are constantly coming up to us, asking questions," said Alexander Avdeev, an expert at Rosoboronexport.

The complex received improved tactical and technical characteristics, updated software and a new launcher. Now it is disposable and carried by one fighter, which allows you to instantly change positions after launching.

Special attention is also being paid to Russian air defense systems, especially those capable of dealing with drones, including small-sized ones.

"It is designed to protect critical infrastructure, including industrial facilities. The number of missiles has been increased, and we are working with both conventional and mini-missiles. The complex effectively repels drone swarm attacks and is ready to counter all modern threats," says a representative of the company that develops high-precision complexes.

Models of rockets for Pantsir are shown on the same stand. It is clearly visible: one complex can now carry about fifty missiles.

"Instead of one such unit, we are installing a special reloading unit, which accommodates four mini-anti—aircraft guns," the company representative explained.

All Russian samples are adapted to the requirements of the Middle East market. It's not just about camouflage for the local landscape. The systems are capable of operating in extreme heat conditions and solving tasks that are relevant specifically for this region.

On February 9, Bekhan Ozdoev, director of the Rostec State Corporation armament cluster and a member of the Bureau of the Union of Machine Builders, said that tank manufacturers in the United States are introducing Russian machine protection developments on their Abrams models. According to a representative of Rostec, the entire history of tank construction is a story of evolution, when one technology replaces another. Ozdoev cited the example of the British Mark I tank, which was considered a breakthrough at the beginning of the 20th century, as well as the Soviet T-34, which replaced the light tanks of the 1930s.
