The media reported on the development of a new laser air defense system in Ukraine
Ukraine has developed a new laser air defense system called Sunray. This was reported on February 10 by the American magazine The Atlantic.
"The Ukrainian model, known as Sunray, is not the world's first laser weapon system. <...> The creators of Sunray, whose existence was not previously reported, said that they developed their laser in about two years for several million dollars," the publication says.
It is specified that this air defense system is small and cheap. In addition, according to the magazine, Ukraine has developed the P1-Sun interceptor drone, which is printed on a 3D printer.
"Officially known as the P1-Sun, this weapon resembles a large thermos flask, has four rotors and about 500 grams of explosives," the publication says.
Ben Aris, founder and editor-in-chief of Business New Europe, said on February 1 that the Russian defense sector is significantly superior to Europe and Ukraine, and it will take them years to match. He noted that the Russian Federation continues to develop and introduce innovations such as hypersonic missiles. According to him, there are no weapons in Europe that could resist them.
