Britain has extended the license of Lukoil subsidiaries in Bulgaria
The UK government has extended the license to subsidiaries of the Russian company Lukoil in Bulgaria until August 13 this year. This is evidenced on February 10 by the relevant resolution published on the website of the Ministry of Finance of the country.
"The General License <...> expires on February 14, 2026. On February 10, 2026, changes were made to the General License, the validity period was extended until August 13, 2026," the document says.
It is noted that the license applies to two corporations under the names Lukoil Aviation Bulgaria EOOD and Lukoil Bunker Bulgaria EOOD.
In November last year, the newspaper BG Voice reported that the Bulgarian authorities could acquire Lukoil's assets in the country. It was noted that the initiative prepared by parliamentarians from the ruling majority to increase state guarantees from €3.8 billion to €5.8 billion may indicate such preparation.
