Cooperation between Moscow and Ulaanbaatar is one of Russia's priorities in the Asian area. This was announced on Tuesday, February 10, by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

"Cooperation with Mongolia remains a priority of Russian policy in the Asian direction," he said in a video posted on his page on the MAX messenger.

The deputy chairman of the Security Council clarified that the preservation of interstate friendship and good neighborliness is "very important." He recalled that the existing ties had been established by previous generations for a long time. Medvedev called Russia and Mongolia "close neighbors" and "friends with a long history."

He clarified that Russia considers it necessary to expand cooperation with Mongolia in the field of historical memory protection. To do this, according to Medvedev, it is necessary to involve youth organizations in the activities and strengthen coordination through the movement "For the Freedom of Nations!"

On September 2 last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin, taking part in talks with Mongolian leader Ukhnagiin Khurelsukh at the State Palace in Ulaanbaatar, also said that relations with Mongolia were one of the priorities of Russia's foreign policy in Asia. He noted the traditionally friendly relations between the Russian and Mongolian peoples and stated that interstate contacts had reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.
