In March, Russians will rest for three days in a row.
In the first month of spring, Russians will have an additional holiday weekend due to International Women's Day, which falls on a Sunday in 2026.
According to the production calendar for 2026, with a five—day working week in March, 21 of the 31 calendar days will be workers, and 10 will be weekends and holidays. There are no shortened working days this month.
The key event will be International Women's Day, which is celebrated on March 8. The day off is postponed to the next working day — Monday, March 9th. Formally, the holiday is dedicated to women's rights, but in the public tradition it has long been a day of congratulations for all representatives of the fair sex — from girls to grandmothers. On this date, it is customary for women to give flowers and gifts, organize family dinners, concerts and cultural events.
Thanks to the postponement, Russians will have a long weekend from Saturday, March 7, to Monday, March 9, inclusive — three whole days of rest. After the holidays, a short four-day working week will begin from March 10 to March 13.
In April 2026, a different situation is expected: out of 30 days, 22 will be working days, 8 will be days off. Officially employed employees will work one hour less on April 30, on the eve of the Spring and Labor Day on May 1.
