The Higher Qualification Board of Judges (HCCC) of Russia has agreed to initiate criminal proceedings against three retired judges from the Stavropol Territory. This was reported on February 10 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

Mikhail Khripunov, deputy chairman of the Stavropol Regional Court, is suspected of accepting a bribe, Artyom Sergeev, ex-deputy chairman of the Nevinnomyssk City Court of the Stavropol Territory, is suspected of mediating a bribe, and Timur Nabokov, a retired judge of the Oktyabrsky Court of Stavropol, is suspected of receiving and mediating a bribe.

Thus, the HCCC satisfied the representations of the chairman of the TFR Alexander Bastrykin. All three did not attend the meeting.

In December last year, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation initiated a new trial to confiscate assets worth 5.4 billion rubles belonging to the former head of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Adygea, Aslan Trakhov, and his relatives. The prosecutor's office found out that Trakhov, who had been in charge of the courts of Adygea for 21 years, resorted to schemes to conceal his property.

Later, on February 10, the HCCC terminated Trakhov's resignation due to a violation of the code of judicial ethics. Trakhov himself did not show up, and the HCCC found his non-appearance disrespectful. A lawsuit against Trakhov and his family was cited as the reason for the termination of the investigation.
