On Thursday, February 12, at the Olympic Games in Italy, the next start of the Russian skier Daria Nepryaeva will take place. The athlete will compete in the individual 10 km freestyle race. The start of the competition is scheduled for 15:00 Moscow time. The Russian woman is competing at the 2026 Games in a neutral status, without national symbols.
On Monday, February 10, Nepryaeva took part in the classic sprint, but failed to qualify for the quarterfinals. The 23-year-old skier clocked a time of 3.51.60 and took 36th place, without entering the top 30 strongest. Sweden's Lynn Svan, Jonna Sundling and Johanna Hagstrom became the leaders of the qualification.
This will be the athlete's third start at the 2026 Olympics after the skiathlon on February 7, when she took 17th place in the 20 km — 10 km classic + 10 km freestyle. In that race, Nepryaeva made a fall on the third lap of the classic part, but managed to complete the distance. The winner was Frida Carlsson from Sweden, Ebba Andersson won silver, and Heidi Weng from Norway won bronze.
In the future, Daria Nepryaeva will take part in the final starts of the Olympic tournament, including the 50 km classic mass start, which will be held on February 22 at 12:00 Moscow time.
Daria Nepryaeva was born on May 18, 2002 in Tver. She is a representative of a well—known sports family: her older sister Natalia Nepryaeva (Terentyeva) is the Olympic champion in 2022, and her father Mikhail Nepryaev is a ski racing coach. Today, Daria Nepryaeva is a two—time Russian champion, world junior champion (2022), winner of the Russian Cup of the 2024/25 season, medalist and winner of the Russian Cup stages.
In December 2025, she competed at the multi-day Tour de Ski in Toblach, Italy, where she took 27th place in the 10 km classic race, 8th in the 5 km freestyle mass start and 10th overall. In January, at the World Cup in Oberhof, the athlete showed the 16th result in the 10 km classic, and in Homs, Switzerland, she reached the quarterfinals of the sprint and became the 8th in the 20 km classic mass start.
