Casco car insurance rates may increase by 12%

Tariffs for casco policies may increase by 11-12%. This forecast was made by Dmitry Kuznetsov, supervisor of the casco department at Rosgosstrakh, the All-Russian Union of Insurers reported on February 10.

According to Kuznetsov, the growth will be uneven. In his opinion, the share of "boxed" car insurance products with incomplete coverage will increase.

The company noted an increase in the cost of spare parts for all brands. Thus, for Chinese brands with a high share of production localization in Russia, the growth was at the level of inflation, for example, 6% for Havel and 8% for Chery/Tenet.

At the same time, the prices of spare parts for Geely cars, according to the insurer, soared by 30%, which is even higher than Mercedes-Benz + (25%), Kia (+21%) and BMW (+12%).

Earlier, on February 2, it was reported that State Duma deputies had prepared an inter-factional bill, which proposes to oblige insurance companies to make recourse claims against the perpetrators of accidents in the presence of aggravating circumstances.

The deputies also proposed to link the rate of tariff increases for CTP policies to an increase in the average salary in the region. According to parliamentarians, this measure will eliminate cases of a sharp increase in tariffs across the region.
