Lavrov announced attempts to make Nazism look acceptable in Europe
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that attempts are being made in Europe today to make Nazism look "acceptable." He announced this on February 10 at a flower-laying ceremony at the memorial plaques of veterans of the Russian Foreign Ministry on the occasion of Diplomatic Worker's Day.
"In general, preserving the memory of the struggle against Nazism is especially important to prevent the revival of misanthropic ideology in any format, in any manifestations," he said.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the completion of the Nuremberg Tribunal, at which history delivered the final verdict to the war criminals of the Third Reich guilty of genocide of the peoples of the former Soviet Union.
"We will continue to work to ensure that the decisions of the Nuremberg Tribunal remain inviolable and that crimes that have been forever condemned will never be repeated anywhere, whether in Ukraine or in various parts of Europe," the minister said.
On February 9, Lavrov said that the "Nazi foundations" in Ukraine must be eliminated, as this is a condition for ensuring the security of the Russian Federation.
