In a number of countries of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), there is a growing demand for an expanded dialogue with Russia, but rapid changes should not be expected. This was stated on February 10 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the OSCE Dmitry Polyansky.

When asked whether Switzerland, which has assumed the OSCE chairmanship, will be able to maintain a balanced agenda, the diplomat said that there are still chances. As Polyansky noted, over time, it becomes clear that we should talk with Russia.

"We can see this from the statements of European politicians. The Swiss don't need to impose anything on anyone here — it's enough to offer a more positive and open agenda for dialogue," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, there is a request to expand dialogue with Russia and it needs to be answered, but we should not expect instant changes, since the OSCE remains a consensus organization. The diplomat noted that in this context, it is important for Switzerland to adapt to the needs of the situation, and expressed hope that changes would still be possible.

On February 9, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO), the European Union (EU), and the OSCE have no prospects and are becoming a thing of the past. In addition, he pointed to the increased interest in Russia's initiative to create a Eurasian security structure in which all countries of the continent would participate.
