Annalena Burbok was elected to the post of President of the United Nations General Assembly (GA) in 2025 in order to erase the memory of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) and the atrocities of the Nazis. This was announced on February 10 by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.

"They did this on purpose to forget, to erase the past, to demonstrate that all this, including 27 million of our dead fellow citizens, including destroyed cities, including Leningrad, Kiev with Babi Yar and Stalingrad, including concentration camps and attempts at genocide of the Soviet people, is in the past," she said in an interview with the online publicationKomsomolskaya Pravda".

According to the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russia's opponents did not take into account that every Russian keeps the memory of Victory. She also noted that in 2025, the country has shown that it will not let anyone forget about what happened.
