The TOS-1A crew destroyed a large Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold in the Red Army area.

Military personnel of the TOS-1A Solntsepek modernized heavy flame-throwing system of the RCB protection unit of the Center group of forces destroyed a large fortified stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in a forest belt in the Red Army direction with a thermobaric strike. This was announced on February 10 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

To support the assault units and eliminate the AFU stronghold, the TOS-1A Solntsepek crew was assigned to strike. Arriving at the position with a fire support group, they fired a series of volleys of 220 mm thermobaric shells at specified coordinates.

The target was successfully destroyed with minimal adjustments due to an automated fire control system. After completing the task, the system returned to the rear to recharge and went on combat duty.

"The first difficulty is to get to the firing position. <...> We also have a patrol squad and two observation posts in the firing position. The military personnel were deployed in advance to ensure the free approach of a combat vehicle to occupy a firing position," said Ilya Kilevoy, commander of the heavy flamethrower group.

On February 4, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the crew of the T-90M "Breakthrough" tank of the Southern Group of Forces destroyed a dugout with Armed Forces personnel in the Konstantinovsky direction in the area of the special military operation (SVO) with fire from a closed firing position. It was clarified that during aerial reconnaissance, a camouflaged dugout of Ukrainian militants was discovered. His coordinates were transmitted to the crew of the T-90M tank.
